Hey Everyone!
How was your holiday weekend?!
We had a lot of rain here (thanks to Hurricane Isaac) & didn’t leave the house too much, but that was okay with me! Sometimes its nice to just stay home & relax…..can I get an AMEN?!
I did manage to work on a few projects over the course of the weekend, and I plan on sharing those with you over the of the next couple days, BUT first, I think you need a little back story…..
Here’s the thing friends, I know you all are gonna think I’m CRAZY, but I decided to makeover a room that I’ve already made over……Remember the Laundry Room?!
This was a sad, SAD little room in our house, but I gave it a little facelift a little over I year ago. I took down the wallpaper border, changed the paint color, and installed some board & batten in the space….
It was quite the improvement as you can see……
And I DID love it……..For a while!!
Have I mentioned I’m kinda fickle?!
I was starting to get tired of the paint color, but most of all, I was unhappy with the wall hangings/art & other accessories (or lack thereof) within the space. To cut down on expenses, I used paint that I already had on hand & then had to find/add accessories based off the paint color….this my friends, is NOT how you should approach a room makeover! I’ve learned that the hard way! Did I make it work?! Yeah, I did, but there is a reason why I’m already tired of this room!
You see, it’s important to have some sort of inspiration piece for a space….such as a photo or some fabric. You should base your room around that piece & THEN choose your paint colors!! So, that is why 17 months later, I am already tired of this space! Are you following me?!
Then, once upon a time, I attended the Haven Conference in Atlanta & visited a little store called IKEA while I was there…..
This was but, my second trip to this heavenly little store! The first trip was back in May, when my hubby & I went to Chicago! Unfortunately, the Chicago location is the closest one to our home, and even that store, is a nice SIX HOUR drive!! So, needless to say, I don’t get to visit very often!
Anyway, while we were shopping at the Atlanta location, I found this beautiful print….
Cue my inspiration piece!!!

They had a coordinating print to match this one & YES, I bought them both! 🙂
So, as you can imagine, I had to repaint the room…
I chose this lovely shade of blue….you all know how much I LOVE blue! 🙂
This shade is called “aqua inslet” and it’s actually part of the Better Homes & Gardens paint line from Walmart! This was my first time using their paint & I have to say….I’m pretty impressed! I think in terms of quality, it is just as good as most of the paints I have purchased at Lowes. It covered well, and was very low in odor. In fact, I barely noticed an odor at all while painting in the small space! It was also cheap! Just a little under $19.00 a gallon….SCORE!!
So, now that you all know WHY I am making over this space AGAIN, we can move on & talk about a few accessories I have been working on….BUT, not tonight!
It’s getting late & this post is already long enough…..wouldn’t you agree?!
So, tell me….Do you all think I’m CRAZY?!
Have you ever made over a room ONLY to make it over AGAIN several months later?! Please tell me I’m not alone!

LOL! I really did laugh when I read your post on facebook. YES, I makeover rooms that have already been made over. In fact, pretty much every room in my home whether it has been done or not in the last few years is going to get made over AGAIN! My style just keeps getting more specific and I like making little tweaks like paint colors and accessories to make the room more me.

I bought some stuff this weekend to add to my kitchen to “remake it over” and I can’t wait to get started on my living room and “remake it over” before Christmas decorating.
