10 Shared Boys Bedroom Ideas

Happy Wednesday Everyone!!

I’ve been thinking about moving the boys into a shared bedroom for quite sometime now. Lately, Griffin would just assume to be in Parker’s room all the time….including at night, when it is time for bed. And to be completely honest, I could really put Griffin’s room to great use as an office/craft room for me & my husband. Right now, my craft stuff is all spread out in different areas of our home.  I would LOVE to have everything in one place, where things could be organized & tidy. I would also love to have a space where I sit & blog without interruptions. My husband also occasionally works from home & would love to have a space where he could do the same.

When I first starting thinking about making this transition, I knew that it would be a project I would want to tackle during the summer months. I’d like for the boys to get used to sleeping in a room together before school starts back up in the fall and more than likely, it will probably be a project that will take me most of the summer to complete anyway.  I mean let’s be honest…..I haven’t even finished my master bedroom yet & I’ve been working on it for several months now! I’m sure most of you have probably forgotten about that room all together by now…..perhaps I need to do a post to bring you all up to date on the master?! Until then, here are some shared boys bedroom ideas that are inspiring me…..

10 Inspiring Shared Bedroom Ideas for Boys

Things I love about each of these spaces:
1. Two Twin Beds– I don’t know what it is about two little beds sitting side by side, but it makes my heart happy! I can’t wait to see my boys’ beds sitting side by side! (Yes, I am a total weirdo!) My mom was out of town doing some shopping yesterday & actually found two matching headboards for me to use in the boys’ room at Goodwill! They are super cute! I’ll be sharing them in a separate post soon!
2. Shared Nightstand– I would love to find a small dresser like you see in these photos above for the boys to use as a nightstand. I love how the dresser separates the two spaces & also brings color, personality, & functionality to the space. I especially love the green dresser you see in the last photo. The paint detail is so cute!
3. Photos/Monograms– Most of the spaces you see here have some way of identifying one space from the other. I love the idea of using monograms and/or photos of the kids to do that. I really love the idea of the monogram pillows that you see on the beds in the first photo that I shared.
What do you think about these inspiration photos?! Which room is your favorite?

  1. LOVE these! And, definitely love the idea of you getting a craft room, too! haha! 😉

  2. Anonymous says:

Love the “idea” of these bedrooms. However, I’m noticing a theme…none of the kids in these bedrooms have nearly as many toys as we do. Storage ideas??

  3. Loooove this post & all of those bedrooms are perfect for little boys. I have a friend who has two boys that share a room & they love sharing together & it works so well for her as well. They are actually in bunk beds because the room is smaller, but it still works wonderful 🙂 Can’t wait to see what you decide! xx Liz Marie

  4. I love the two twin beds with shared night stand look in a kids room. I love aspects of each room you showed. Can’t wait to see what you come up with!

  5. Love this post and it’s right on time for me. We are moving and I am looking to have a sewing room in the new house. Thinking about doing twin beds in the guest room. I have been looking all over for good pics for ideas. So thanks for sharing these. I like the campy one with the railroad sign and the very last photo as inspiration for your boys room. They both look unique, comfy and there is still room for them to personalize it with things they bring in that they like. I also really like the color palate in the last one.

  6. All of your inspiration pics are wonderful. I especially like the ones with a monogram/initial. That sort of designates who gets what space. Good luck with whatever you decide!

  7. I love all those spaces you shared. And Love your ideas too! A shared dresser as nightstands, twin beds, and something on or over the beds that personalizes it – YES! 🙂

Can’t wait to see what you do! 🙂

  1. […] So Christmas came & went and January was upon us. I was itching to get a few projects completed around the house….you know, cuz the house kinda took a backseat to the store as well. First, and foremost, I had to do something about the boys’ shared bedroom. Remember when I blogged my inspiration for the room HERE? […]
