Happily Ever Before & After Week 21: Master Bedroom Makeover via Dixie Delights

Happy Friday Ladies (and Gents?!)

I’m not sure if I have any men who regularly read this blog (other than my hubby & occasionally my dad), but maybe I shouldn’t just assume that I speaking to women only! 🙂

Have y’all had a good week? As I am typing this (Thursday afternoon) our area is getting hit with ice & snow….BLECK!! Not exactly the way I wanted to start the weekend, however the temperature is supposed to warm up by Sunday, so let’s hope that it all melts away fast!

Since it’s Friday, it’s time for another edition of Happily Ever Before & After! For anyone who maybe new to the blog, I share a room makeover every Friday. This week’s makeover comes to you courtesy of Amanda at Dixie Delights, and let me just say…..it’s a show stopper!!

Let’s take a look at Amanda’s Master Bedroom “Before.”

Amanda stated that the room was much too dark for her taste.  She said she wanted a master bedroom “where the light would flood in & the colors were muted & serene.”
So, they painted the walls & the trim, removed the ceiling fan, and installed hardwood floors to match the rest of their home.
And here is a look at Amanda’s bedroom “After.”

Oh my……isn’t it lovely?!

And isn’t that light fixture fantastic?!

Amanda is a Southern gal from Georgia. Her traditional, southern style is demonstrated so beautifully in this space and all throughout her home! When you stop by her blog, be sure to take her “Home Tour” page…..I promise you won’t be disappointed!!

You MUST head on over to her blog to see more beautiful photos of this space!! Every last detail is fabulous, including the way she hid her television!! I seriously may be stealing that idea!!

  1. I love the transformation that takes place when painting dark trim white. Our house has beautiful dark woodwork but I am so tempted to paint it all white. My mom and mother in law would kill me, though! They think its ridiculous to “destroy” that beautiful woodwork. Do you have any advice?

  2. I love Amanda’s taste — great feature, Tonya! Hope there’s not too much snow in your future; I would love a snow day myself, but we’re only in for rain, rain, and more rain. Yuck.
