Hello Friends!!
It's hard to believe that Monday is here and Blissdom is over! What a fabulous conference it was!! I will be doing a Blissdom recap post probably later this week to fill you in on all the fun we had & giving you a little overview of the conference, but today I wanna share with you a little something I've been working on.
Well, I never showed you what I bought....
I love my new shelf!! Isn't it cute?!
Part of the reason why I hadn't shown it to you yet is because I been busy trying to fill it!! I think I finally have it the way I like it....at least for now!! :)
The shelf has kind of an old vintage feel to it, so I wanted to fill it with items that I thought would compliment that. For me, that meant lots of glass decor & other rusty vintage finds....
The shelf is hanging above the board & batten wall in my living room where my Craigslist dresser is going (btw, I finished it before I left for Blissdom....I'll be sharing that with you soon!) and because there is so much blue/aqua in my living room, I thought it would be great to incorporate that color using aqua colored mason jars & other glass items....
I found this little vintage clock above at one of our local antique shops along with the Ball mason jar. I just love the way they look together.
This other glass jar was also a local antique store find. I It ties in nicely with the other blue jar & I especially love its shape & the rusty wire handle! :)
The "Faith, Family, Friends" sign was one that I already had lying around the house as well as the little wooden box that houses those 4 glass jars. I used both in my
Summer Mantel last year. The aqua insulator was also a local antique store find.
The blue frame, keys, & glass jar/vase were all purchased at Kirkland's the same day I bought the shelf.
Another shot of my cute little clock.....
These old books & little scale were also purchased at one of our local antique stores. I've been wanting an antique scale for a while & I loved how little this one was, and the fact that it match the color scheme I was going with was just an added bonus!! The pitcher was another item that I already had.
A little bit closer shot of the scale....Blue & Rusty.....LOVE!!!
Who knew that a little bit of rust could make a girl so happy?!
And because I'm crazy like that I here are a few more shots of the items from different angles.....
The "D" if you are wondering is the first initial of our last name. This was just a wooden letter I purchased at Hobby Lobby & painted to match the decor. I also used a little antiquing medium to get the look I was going for. The blue jar/container was also a Kirkland's purchase.
A couple more shots of the vignette as a whole....
