Big, Fat, Exciting News....

Happy Wednesday Everyone!!!

Do you all remember my vlog that I did last week?! I mentioned towards the end of the video that there have been some things going on behind the scenes of this blog that I have been really excited about & DYING to share with all of you!!

Well....today is the day!!!

It's time to let the cat out of the bag!!!

This is what I'm EXCITED about......

It's the April issue of Woman's Day magazine! 

Now, I know you all are probably thinking....

"Woman's Day Magazine?! Really, Tonya...why would you be excited about that?!"

Well, I don't know.....

Could it be because I'M IN IT?!?!

Well, would you look at that?! 

My Coat Closet turned Home Office space got featured in Woman's Day magazine this month!!!!! 

WHAT?!  

I know, right?!

 Can I get a.....

Woot Woot?!?!

You guys have NO IDEA how hard this has been for me to keep secret!!! I got the first email from Woman's Day back in November!! They were wondering if I would be interested in having my "Cloffice" featured in their magazine, and of course, I said...."YES!" They did inform me, that mine was one of a few different projects that had been selected for a POSSIBLE feature & that after a meeting with the editor-in-chief later that week, they would let me know for sure if I had been selected or not! I was so excited, but tried not to get my hopes up, just in case they decided to go with someone else! Then I got a call on Friday of that same week to let me know that my project had been chosen for the feature!!! 

To say I was excited, was an UNDERSTATEMENT!!!

The first thing I was concerned about was the pictures for the article! This project was one of the first I had completed after starting this little blog & back before I understood the importance of GOOD PHOTOS!! If you look back at that post you will know what I am talking about!! The pictures are super dark!! So, I asked Angela (one of the ladies from Woman's Day) if I could have the opportunity to re-shoot the space in order to have good photos for the magazine feature. She emailed me back to tell me that that wouldn't be necessary, because they would be sending a PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER to my home to take pictures of the closet office & of myself for the magazine article!! I was like..... "Are you kidding me?!"

I took all kinds of pictures to show you guys the behind the scenes footage of the photo-shoot that day. I will be sharing those in another post! The photographer & his crew came to our house just 3 days after Christmas to take pictures for the magazine! I was so nervous about it.....but it was SO MUCH FUN!!!

I had a couple of phone interviews with the people at Woman's Day between December & January to hammer out all of the details for the article & the last words I heard from them was.... 

"Okay, it should be in the April issue!" 

I had no idea what to expect in terms of the article. I didn't know if it would be a full page or it would be just a little blurb on the sidebar of one of the pages, so needless to say, when the magazine came out last Friday & I saw that it was TWO FULL PAGES....I was ECSTATIC!!!!

 

 So cool, right?!

One thing I've learned about blogging.... 

You Never Know Who Might Be Reading!!!
