Longing for Spring...

I know many of you are just as sick of this winter weather as I am...

In the last couple of weeks, it seems like we have been getting a little bit of a break from the bitter cold temps & getting a small taste of that spring weather we are all longing for! One of my favorite things about spring is getting outside & working in my flower beds! Oh how I long for flowers & pretty green grass!!

A week or so ago the Thrifty Decor Chick did a quick & easy DIY project that inspired me! You can read about this project by clicking here and here. I absolutely LOVE tulips...especially pink ones & I had been looking for a pretty white pitcher for my kitchen table for some time now. I found this one at Target for $14.00 and scored some after-valentine's-day tulips marked down to $2.50 a bundle at Walmart yesterday! Put the tulips in the pitcher (with some water of course) and

VOILA...quick & easy (& beautiful) centerpiece!!

LOVE...LOVE...LOVE!!!

I have been working on taking pictures using the manual mode on my camera & learning more about aperture, shutter speed, etc. Teresa at Meadowbrook Farm has been giving some wonderful information on her blog about this subject & has been sparking my interest in photography a little more. Visit Teresa's blog & swoon (I promise you will) over her gorgeous photos!!!

Goodwill Find!

We did a small addition to our home a couple of years ago which consisted of a master bathroom & walk-in closet. The bathroom is pretty good size and now looking back, I wish I would have made the closet a little bigger & the bathroom a little smaller, but what is done is done & there is no changing it now!

These are some pics of my bathroom vanity...my favorite part of this bathroom!!

I have been working on filling the new bathroom with pictures & decor ever since the addition was completed, but it has been slow moving! I have been wanting a storage bench for the wall opposite this vanity quite some time now, but have had problems finding a bench that I liked for the price I wanted to pay. These are some examples of what I was looking for...

These benches all ran anywhere from $200-$249 and so did all of the other benches that I have come across in my search! So for 2 years now, I have been putting this purchase off!!!

Then my mom sent me a picture from our local Goodwill shop of this.....

The perfect size bench for this once empty wall....

Now I know its not much to look at now, but it  will be perfect when I get done with it!

And the best part...it was only $10.00!!!

Woo to the Hoo!!!

Now that's the price I was looking for!

The funny thing about this find..its actually an old piano bench!!

I am planning on painting it (of course), adding a shelf to the bottom of it with some storage baskets & also reupholstering the seat cushion and then adding some cute accessories to the top of it!

Can't wait to get started!!

We're Back!!

I am happy to say that we are home from our Disney adventure in Orlando! It was a fun, but super stressful trip! I knew taking a 6 month old to Disney World probably wasn't the smartest decision on my part, but seeing as how I was just away from both kiddos a month ago while we were in Cancun, I just wasn't ready to be away from him again!

And so...he came with us!

See what I mean...he's cute, right?!?

Hard to leave him behind!

Yes, the 14 hour car ride wasn't easy & dragging him all through Disney World wasn't the easiest either, but we made some memories!!


 Parker had a blast & got to meet & get his
 picture taken with a lot of Disney Characters!

He was in Heaven!!

Having a Blast at Disney!!

Wanted to apologize for my lack of posts recently...

I have a really good excuse though...

I have been spending the last few days in the most magical place....

I mean really...

does it get any more magical than Cinderella's castle?!?

And these two...

Are having a blast!!!

 I can't tell you how much I am enjoying see the excitement in their sweet faces!

Dreams do come true at Disney!!!

I promise I will get back to work on posts for this blog when we return!!!

Until then...I am soaking up this time with my family!!
