I've been working a few days on my Christmas (Faux) Mantel & I think it's finally ready for its debut.....
The focal point of the mantel is an old antique window that I got this past weekend for just five buckaroos! The glass was broke in it, so I went ahead & busted the rest of it out. I think sometime after Christmas I will either replace the glass or put a mirror in it instead...we'll see!
I sanded the window frame down, gave it a coat of primer & then a coat of blue paint followed by a couple coats of cream paint & then distressed it a bit to where the blue color would shine through a bit. Then I just made a wreath using greenery I already had on hand & added a few ornaments & a bow to tie it in with the stockings.
For those of you who have been following this blog for a while, you know that my mantel is actually just a shelf in my kitchen. Its not very deep, so space is limited for decorating! Once I placed my greenery on the shelf, it only left room for a few ornaments & a pine cone here & there....
I wanted stockings to hang from my shelf this year, so I had my mom whip these little cuties up for me!
If I have time I will post a tutorial in a few days....
She made the stockings & then together we made these jute bows & added the jingle bells for a little bit of added cuteness!
I just LOVE them!
My mom actually had the jingle bells on hand, so it worked out perfectly!
So that's it!
Hope you like it!
I hope to share some more of my Christmas decor with you in the coming week!
Hope you all are enjoying the Christmas season!!!
