I, like you, love porch swings. You don't see to many of them in California but in Arkansas, where I grew up, just about everyone has one. When we owned our home in Lancaster, CA we had one and I just absolutely loved it. I could out in the morning with my cup of coffee and my Bible and do my devotional. Nothing but the sounds that God created all around me and I absolutely loved it. We sold our home in 2005 preparing for retirement as we did not want to live our retirement years in the desert. Right now we are leasing a home in the San Joaquin Valley so we couldn't hang a porch swing. My wonderful husband went shopping one day and came home with a glider swing. It is the next best thing to actually having a porch swing and I can now sit with my coffee and listen, once again, to the sounds God made.
