One of my good friends called a couple of weeks ago & said that she was buying her granddaughter a rocking chair for her birthday and wanted to know if I could personalize the chair for her by adding her granddaughter's name & any other girly touches I wanted!
Seeing how I am surrounded in a house full of boys, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to girly up anything!!
So, of course, I said "yes."
She purchased the chair at Lowe's for her granddaughter & brought to my house.
This is what it looked like before....
It really is a nice little rocker & sturdy too!!
This is what it looked like after I girlied it up a bit....
What do you think?!?
Do you love it?
I do!!!
This was such a fun project!! And easy too!!
I've decided now, after a million different projects with scrapbook paper, that the possibilities are endless!! I found some cute & girly scrapbook paper at Hobby Lobby that I liked & decided that I would cut her name out with my Cricut machine & decoupage it onto the back of the chair with Mod Podge.
So that's what I did!
After adding her name & the little flower to the back of the chair, I decided it need a little something extra, so I added the little bows with the hot pink & white polka dot ribbon...
Because, really, what girl doesn't like polka dot?!?
Especially, pink polka dot!?!
I secured the bows with a little hot glue as well...
And if you're wondering & thinking to yourself...
"I've never seen any of her pictures with this back-drop before."
That's because I packed the chair up & took it down to the park for a photo shoot....
Yep, that's right...
I've officially
LOST.MY.MIND!!
The people at the park were looking at me strange & wondering why I was carrying this little rocker from place to place to take pictures of it...especially when there wasn't anyone sitting in it!!
Don't mind me people....
I'm just a crazy blogger who wants a pretty back-drop for my project reveal!!
Is that too much to ask?!?

I love it! Thank you for sharing! I also have a house full of boys...so I hear you loud and clear! LOL
ReplyDeleteSo sweet. And a good photo sometimes is EVERYTHING! Too funny. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny! I was actually thinking at first... wow, does she have a pond in her backyard?!
ReplyDeleteI think it's super-cute, and a mother of three boys and no girls, I can understand the desire to jump in and do anything girly. But if this was in my house, my kids would have those bows messed up in 2 seconds flat!
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job of your "girly" project! I know how you feel with all guys around all the time! Sometimes it is just fun to venture away from the stripes, blues, greys and greens! and you're not crazy...I would take an empty chair to the park for a photo shoot as well !! Have a great day and thanks for showing us your girly side. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable rocking chair!! I love it Tonya! That is too cute about brining it to the park. Why not?! I think that it is wonderful and gives me an idea about bringing some things down to the beach. :)
ReplyDeleteCute chair!!
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh at this post, though. I am almost positive that my neighbours think I'm a psycho. I was up on the roof taking pictures of shutters with my coffee the other day.... so ridiculous. :)
