Sorry I have been a little absent from this blog in the last week!!
I have been busy working outside & trying to
get the yard cleaned up!!
I showed you a month or so ago the side of the house where we throw all of our crap that we don't know what to do with...
And I told you I was sick of looking at it...
So I decided that I was gonna clean it up!
This is what it looked like after I got done....
I transplanted some hostas from my front yard, a few mums, & then added one of my favorite annuals...
Impatiens!!
These things LOVE water & lots of shade!
So I am expecting they are going to do well on
this side of the house!
It is almost always shaded & always damp. And
when they are in a spot where they like it...
they get HUGE!!
See what I mean?
No this is not my yard, but maybe with a little LOVE my impatiens will look like this by mid summer!!
So after adding the impatiens, hanging my window boxes, & filling them with some pretties...
This is what the side of the house is looking like now...
Progress?!?
Let's have one more look...
Ahhh...much better!!
I still have to get some shutters to add to the window & I still have to figure out how I am going to finish out this flower bed. I can't decided if I wanna add some pavers or just build it up with some soil & mulch...
What do you guys think?
And because I am obsessed with my camera, I also wanted to share with you some pics of my other pretties in the yard...
My rose bush is in full bloom..
My knock-out roses are too!!
And I love my clematis...

What have you been doing to get your yard ready for summer?
Happy Monday Everyone!!
Hope you all have a great week!!

Oh I love it! I so need to get out there too. Too much rain and cool weather lately to do anything! Impatiens can be so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI love impatiens as well! I have them in their containers scattered throughout my garden waiting to be put in. Maybe the weather will cooperate again soon, so I can get them in the ground.
ReplyDelete(Honestly, waiting to find a way to keep the neighbors cats out of the garden. It will just dig them up as soon as I plant them.)
Yours look so pretty!
It looks so pretty now and if your hostas grow anything like ours here in the northeast, they'll be huge in no time...I love impatients too....problem here is the deer love them as much as I do...boo hoo....great job...need to get started on mine now that it is finally starting to warm up....enjoy your hard work!!

It looks beautiful Tonya! I love impatiens as well and they do so good in my flowers boxes too. :) Your roses are gorgeous, their colors are so vibrant. I am so glad that you got to work on your garden, I say that you are for sure making progress. :)

So, so, so much prettier!!!
ReplyDeleteYou've given me hope for the other side of the house that is neglected and oh so ugly.
:)
I'd say that is progress. Now you get to sit back and watch them grow. So pretty! Love the color.
ReplyDeleteIt's a huge difference, I love impatiens and the colours are so happy!!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I love all the flowers!
ReplyDeleteWhat a transformation and they are not full grown yet. They are going to be gorgeous! They are already pretty! Great job.
ReplyDeleteLove the flower box. How did you attach it, since you have siding??
The side of your house looks absolutely springy and gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLooks great! BTW - I gave you an award on my blog today!

It looks really, really pretty!! If it ever stops RAINING out here, we have loads of yard work to do, lol. Need to mow the lawn, add some mulch, and get some dirt delivered so we can build up some pits and dips in the yard, and re-seed. so much to do!
ReplyDeleteMuch much better! The side of your house looks lovely now. Beautiful roses by the way. Thanks for adding your link to Beach Cottage Good Life Wednesdays.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I love the way it looks and like the added touch of color on the house with the window box :)
ReplyDeletethat looks so amazing, and it looks like a lot of hard word! i love how bright and cheerful it is right now. wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a dramatic change! Great job. I love the fact that you used a monochromatic color scheme. That pink is so pretty.
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL! I love this weather :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for linking to "20 Below Thursday"! :)
It looks so pretty, Tonya! I do love impatiens. They truly thrive in the shade and are totally maintenance free - my kind of flower!
ReplyDeleteYour roses and clems are gorgeous too. Looks like spring has done its thing at your house!
simply beautiful... we are renting right now and the front of the house is bare... but I don't like to get my hands dirty! I need to work on that! :)
