I don't know about all of you....
But, sometimes, for me, all it takes is one picture...
I am ready to get to work!!
Hellooo.....Curb Appeal!!
Aren't those flowers just gorgeous!?!
I am soo ready to start working in my flower beds!!!
These are some pictures of our home last summer....
Not quite as gorgeous as the Better Homes & Gardens version above, but I was really happy with how our landscaping & flowers turned out last year! Our bushes are finally getting full & everything is just looking more mature! I can't wait to see how it all looks this year!!
While the front of the house looks great.....
The side of the house....
NOT SO MUCH!!!
Hey people...I'm just trying to keep it real!!
For those of you who think my house is spotless & looks perfect at all times...
It doesn't!!
This is the side of the house we put all of the crap that we don't know what to do with or how to dispose of certain things...
(Behind the flower pots up there...left over countertop from our kitchen remodel)
But yesterday...I decided I had had enough!!
I got Griffin down for his nap & Parker & I went to work...
(Well, I went to work, Parker dug in the dirt looking for worms)
So, this is what it looks like now...
I know, I know, still not "looking pretty" but, we are making baby steps here...
I transplanted some mums from my front flower bed to the side yard...
I also dug up a ginormous hosta from the front flower bed, divided it, & transplanted it to the side yard as well! I had enough to go down the entire side of my house! The hosta never did well in the front yard, because it got too much sun, but the side yard is shaded almost all day, so I think it is going to do really well in its new spot!
I am hoping maybe this weekend, I can get some more things planted on this side of the house & mulch it all in. Eventually, I would love to get some shutters for the window & a nice window box to plant flowers in.
I think it would really dress up the side of the house!!
Something like this would be nice....
I will take more pics & post them as we make further improvements...
So, that's what I've been working on! Had to take a break from all of the other indoor projects I have going on & take advantage of this beautiful weather!! Hope that you all have been doing the same!!
I am going to leave you with some pretty pics that I took of some tulips I have blooming in the front yard, as well as some of my neighbors pretty spring flowers...
There, hope that brightened up your Friday & put a
"little spring" in your step!!
Hope you all are having a great day!!
I'm linking up....

Beautiful pics. I saw a Lowes commercial a few weeks back that put me in a tailspin of ourdoor decorating/planting. Inspiration is everywhere. Happy Friday.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see how it all turns out. I'm sure it's gonna be gorgeous! I love your photos, as always :)
ReplyDeleteOh Tonya, you are making me wish I didn't have to come to work every day. Spending my days outside like you did yesterday would be a dream. Great pictures and you're right. Your flower beds did turn out great.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Photos! I love Spring and Summer flowers.
ReplyDeleteWoW! that 1st pic is very inspirational! Just Beautiful, and your home's curb appeal is not far off!! Looks great! I, too, can't wait to start digging in the garden!

ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see it! The window boxes are a great idea.
ReplyDeleteI love that it's that time of year to plan landscaping!
ReplyDeleteIt looks so pretty out in front and so nice and neat on the side! Thanks for sharing. We are under 8" of snow and I am sick of it!! I will live vicariously through others who are already doing yard work. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm visiting from Sunday Showcase.
Have a great day.
Pam
I think your house is lovely...I had to laugh when you said the side of your house is where all the crap ended up...I think everyone has a space like that even if they won't admit it! How nice to have a blog with your mom. Twice the fun and half the work. I found you at Sunday Showcase and am following you now. Come visit my blog if you have time...~Ann
ReplyDeleteOk, the outside of your home is gorgeous too!!! :) I love your flower beds and it is really close to your inspiration picture. Our yard/gardens need ALOT of work and I have a brown thumb so that does not help. :) Glad that you got to enjoy the weather and your flowers are beautiful!
