While sitting around trying to come up with new ideas & new posts for the blog, I stumbled across these pictures that I had saved on my computer...
And I thought....
"Hey! I think my readers would enjoy these!"
Back in August of 2009, I had the privelage of throwing a baby shower for my absolute best friend in the world, Christy! I was in charge of the shower & of course (like I always do) I went to my mom for help! The two of us made & put together all of the decorations for the shower & it turned out just lovely
(or at least I thought so!)
The hurricane globes on the table were recycled from my wedding (my mom has used these things and lent them out a gazillion times over). We just added a simple ribbon to the top of them & I added a little "B" for baby because at that time, Christy still was undecided on a name for her new little man!
We also made these cute little favor boxes out of poster board! We My mom cut all of them out...(like 40 of them!) Then she used some extra napkins we had purchased, pulled the top layer of the napkins off & decoupaged them to the boxes to coordinate with the rest of the shower decor. Talk about AMAZING!Then I added the ribbon & the little "thank you" tags that I made with my cricut machine.
(I had the easy job!)
We bought these paper mache letters at Hobby Lobby, painted the sides of them chocolate brown, then covered the front of them with scrapbook paper which also coordinated with the shower decor.
I made this diaper cake & then dressed it up with ribbon & a few scrapbooking embellishments...
We didn't have a large cake made for the shower because we made cupcakes, but felt like we still needed a cake, so I bought this chocolate cake at walmart & then I added the "Baby Boy" sign to the top using my cricut machine. My mom added that cute little ruffle to the bottom of the cake liner.
The "ABC" blocks were actually recycled from my baby shower! I just had to repaint the letters (they were yellow before) chocolate brown to match the rest of the decor.
Cupcakes that we made...
The cake table...
The shower was a huge success!
Christy had lots of friends & family show up to help celebrate...
She also did well in the gift department!
Baby Owen got some really cute clothes & lots of other baby
must-haves!
I so much enjoyed planning & decorating for this shower!!
Christy is such a special person & she deserved a special day!
She is a wonderful friend, daughter, wife, & MOMMY!!
